Testosterone Cypionate (200 mg/mL)
Dosing & administration protocol
Quick Reference
Overview
Testosterone Cypionate is a long-acting esterified testosterone with a half-life of approximately 8–10 days. The cypionate ester attached at the 17β-hydroxyl position slows hydrolysis and extends the release of free testosterone into circulation. Research applications include androgen deficiency models, anabolic/androgenic ratio studies, muscle hypertrophy research, erythropoiesis studies, and TRT pharmacokinetic investigations. The long half-life supports once-weekly dosing in most research designs.
Dosing & Reconstitution Guide
| Phase | Daily Dose | Units | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRT Range (100 mg/week) | 100 mg | 0.5 mL | 0.5 mL |
| TRT High Range (200 mg/week) | 200 mg | 1.0 mL | 1.0 mL |
| Research Protocol (300 mg/week) | 300 mg | 1.5 mL | 1.5 mL |
| Research Protocol (500 mg/week) | 500 mg (split 250 mg × 2) | 2.5 mL total | 1.25 mL per dose |
Reconstitution Instructions
Testosterone Cypionate is supplied as a ready-to-use oil solution — no reconstitution is required.
Warm the vial to room temperature (20–25 °C) before drawing; cold oil is viscous and difficult to draw accurately.
Use an 18–21 G drawing needle to pull the required volume into a sterile syringe.
Switch to a 23–25 G, 1–1.5-inch needle for intramuscular administration.
Clean the injection site (gluteus maximus, vastus lateralis, or deltoid) with alcohol; allow to air-dry.
Inject slowly (30–60 seconds) deep into the muscle; aspirate is optional in current research practice.
Apply gentle pressure after injection; do not rub the site.

Supplies Needed
- ✓Testosterone Cypionate (200 mg/mL): 2–4 vials (10 mL each)
- ✓Drawing Needles (18–21 G): 12–24 needles
- ✓Injection Needles (23–25 G, 1–1.5 in): 12–24 needles
- ✓Sterile 3 mL Syringes: 12–24 syringes
- ✓Alcohol Swabs: 24–48 swabs
- ✓Sharps Container: 1
Dosing Protocol
Schedule
For TRT-range research: once weekly injection. For higher-dose or pharmacokinetic research: split into two equal doses per week (e.g., Monday and Thursday) to reduce peak-to-trough fluctuation.
Cycle Length
Research cycles typically run 12–16 weeks to allow sufficient time for steady-state androgen levels and observable endpoint measurement. TRT models may run indefinitely with periodic monitoring.
Site Rotation
Rotate between gluteus maximus (preferred), vastus lateralis, and deltoid. Do not inject the same site on consecutive occasions.
Storage & Handling
- ✓Store at room temperature (15–25 °C); do not refrigerate (cold crystallisation can occur in oil-based solutions).
- ✓If crystallisation occurs, warm the sealed vial in a 37 °C water bath and swirl gently until dissolved before use.
- ✓Protect from direct light and heat above 35 °C.
- ✓Multi-dose vials should be used within 28 days of first puncture; label with date opened.
- ✓Inspect for particulate matter or precipitate before each draw; discard if present after warming.
Important Notes
- ✓All products sold by JA Performance Peptides are intended strictly for laboratory research purposes and are not approved for human consumption, veterinary use, or therapeutic application. Not for human use.
- ✓Use a separate drawing needle and injection needle for every administration to maintain sterility.
- ✓Oil-based testosterone is viscous — use the appropriate gauge needle and inject slowly over 30–60 seconds.
- ✓Exogenous testosterone suppresses the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis; relevant for study designs measuring endogenous hormone recovery.
- ✓Monitor haematocrit, lipid panel, and PSA markers where applicable throughout the research protocol.
- ✓Rotate injection sites and document each injection site, volume, and lot number.
